Speed Without Direction

I sat at my desk yesterday, watching AI generate code in seconds what would’ve taken me hours…

And I wondered: is this what progress feels like?

Because here’s what I’m noticing in my design work lately: we’re moving incredibly fast.

It reminds me of driving a sports car without a map. Exhilarating, yes. Productive? I’m not so sure.

When we worked more slowly, a wrong turn was no big deal. But now? That same tiny deviation sends us miles from where we intended.

What fascinates me most is how organization alignment becomes more essential as execution speeds up.

As things move faster, how do we keep everyone aligned? I’m still processing what this means for those of us who create.

The conversations around direction, the shared understanding of purpose, the clear articulation of “Why”… these human moments now matter more than ever…

Maybe the real innovation isn’t about how fast we can go, but how clearly we can see where we’re headed.

Just thinking out loud.
